Joe Pytka, who directed the original "Space Jam," has a strong warning for producers of the rumored sequel.
"Don't do it. It's doomed," Pytka told Bill Higgins of The Hollywood Reporter. "Michael Jordan was the biggest star on the planet."
Justin Lin of "Fast and Furious 6" and "Star Trek Beyond" fame is reportedly in talks to direct the sequel, which will star LeBron James. Producers also reportedly reached out to Cleveland Cavaliers guard J.R. Smith about a potential role in the film.
"When we did 'Space Jam,' there was a perfect storm of players and ex-players available," Pytka said. " ... There are none around like that now."
